One Week, Two Different Styles of Copper House Retreats

July 23, 2025 By //  by Pam Anderson

We offer three different styles of retreats here at Copper House. The first is an all-day program of relaxing, restorative, and pleasurable experiences. Some have the luxury of this choice, but most groups are here to meet, to get better acquainted, to accomplish, and to go deeper as a team. So for this second option, in addition to offering meeting space, we also pepper in mindful, enjoyable, self-reflective experiences throughout the day. And finally, some groups are just looking for a beautiful, quiet, calm, private place to meet and eat!

Last week we hosted our two most common styles. Our Tuesday group was here not only to connect and plan, but also to enjoy some signature Copper House experiences. As they arrived, we greeted them with cold lavender-scented clothes to refresh them and send the signal that they were in for a pleasurable day. Over the course of an hour while mingling and enjoying breakfast, they each enjoyed a ten-minute chair massage.

After breakfast and an ice-breaking exercise, they headed to our lower level for a fun-filled hour of  laughter movement. When the group arrived at the outdoor kitchen, they were energized and in high spirits, ready for what they said was the best pizza they had ever had.

It was quite warm that day, but the forest is always cooler, so after  lunch, David took them to the woods for a little contemplation and then on a nature walk leading to the labyrinth, which they each walked. Having bonded as a group over the course of the day,  they came together in the big glass room and accomplished the business part of the day in a mere one and a half hours.

Our second group exemplifies a good number of Copper House clients. They’re here to enjoy one another’s company and Copper House and its peaceful grounds, but they are also here to get out of the office and analyze, vision, and goal set. At 9 am, they arrived with their facilitator.

After enjoying a quick breakfast on the deck, they headed straight to the big glass room where they followed a very disciplined schedule, taking time for short breaks, a pleasurable outdoor lunch, and a final dessert of our plant-based vanilla ice cream topped with a scoop of lemon sorbet–the perfect dessert for these sun-drenched summer days.

Whether you’re looking for a retreat day filled with meaningful, memorable experiences, one that’s a work-pleasure hybrid, or a full day of team work with beautiful food and surroundings, we’re here for you!
