Sound Bathing and Mindfulness Movement with John Muraco

January 5, 2025 By //  by Pam Anderson

John Muraco of Heartwell House at a recent Copper House retreat offering what he calls The Arc of Sound, more commonly known as a “Sound Bath.”

Even if an organization hosts a business retreat at Copper House, most groups want want an experience to rejuvenate the team and help them connect with themselves and one another, go deeper. What’s good for the person is good for the group. At Copper House, we offer both mindfulness movement and sound bathing because not only are these experiences grounding and restorative, they also appeal to everyone, regardless of age or physical fitness.

We have many gifted Copper House experience partners who offer mindfulness movement or sound bathing, but John Muraco, founder of Heartwell House in Ottsville, PA seamlessly weaves both into one moving experience. John believes  “that people have their own unique inner resources to heal and re-embrace their lives,” and his guided movement, followed by healing sound, flowing into meditation, and ending with the light touch of essential oils is a complete experience for body, mind, and spirit.

John also offers a combination of mindfulness movement with gentle sound bathing for smaller groups.

For larger groups John offers a big-format experience, bringing in his entire collection of instruments. For smaller groups he creates a more intimate, but equally powerful experience. John creates what he calls The Arc of Sound, or a “Sound Bath” which begins with a sequence of relaxing stretches and calming breathing techniques, followed by the sounds of carefully selected singing bowls, gongs, chimes and other soothing instruments. The sounds begin subtly, quietly, then crescendo and peak, finally finding their way back down to a restorative calming end. If a group desires something more upbeat and uplifting he can accommodate those needs as well. Says John, “Your only task is to get as comfortable as possible. Most people like to lie down and cover up with a cozy blanket.”

When you book your next Copper House Events retreat, ask for John Muraco. He will gift you with a powerful, healing experience you’ll always remember.
